Sound conflict - Gnome

I enabled the system sounds (ESD) but I lost the sound in Totem. If I disable them, sound works in Totem. It seems there is a conflict. Is there a way to resolve this conflict to have them both workig? FYI, I had KDE in my system and replaced it with Gnome 2.20.

Update your system if you haven't done so, and re-install Totem.

My Gnome is 2.20 which is the latest. I re-installed totem but no luck. Any other suggestion?
