software for compiling source packages

Hi. Could someone please list the software I would need to apt-get install so that I can compile from source? I'm trying to install ndiswrapper for wireless access and I have to compile ndiswrapper from source. I'm using Debian Sarge.

Thank you

There is no definative list. Different software has different prerequisites depending on the language is written in etc. The configure script should give you more information about what you require.

A good starting point for Debian is the "build-essential" package, which will install software very commonly used for compiling.

The original question is nearly 2 yrs old. Do you really think your message contributes? I have my doubts...
