Slow PC!

I am totally unhappy of my computer experience!
My computer boot in more than 3 minutes, it loads any application (as xfceterminal) in more than seven seconds, also if I try to suspend it it crashesh; I have debian 9, it was always wrong but worse after i installed a lot of packages! I am newbie, i wouldn't know that it will slow all!
There is a way (with systemctl or other program, also graphical interface) to edit all the targets of systemd (in order to free cpu time and ram)? I tried to do, but services it give a warning messages of not conformity with some target, and after a reboot there are all ultra slow daemon!
What solutions could I have other than disabling daemons?
Please not leave me alone! I have also another question on on another thread on incompatibility of drivers with my double-graphic-card!
Help me!

Rather than wade my way through all that, could you possibly please install inxi, if you don't have it installed already, and paste the output from inxi -F. Many thanks.

Or failing that, just tell us what processor you are using and how much core memory you have. Those are the things that determine speed. If you have a very old machine with a slow processor and little ram and you try to run one of bigger distros on it, it will be slow.

There are distros that will run decently on quite old machines, but you'll probably need a much simpler desktop than xfce.

Hi...

You beat me to it, I was just going to request the same thing. :)

Acpi daemon,
upower,
Xfce4 power management.

But I can't disable services as I said.

Help me

Debian does not have sudo installed by default. Either you aren't using Debian or you have done some significant mucking around with the system.

Anyway, looking up SATELLITE L50-B, I see that it is a pretty fast laptop that does NOT have a Wacom serial stylus input (many tablet PC laptops have this for pen input). This is significant because I have found that Debian 9 Stretch currently has a bad Wacom serial device bug that causes X to hang for 250 seconds (a stupid bug that makes the driver wait 250 seconds instead of 250 milliseconds).

There may be some other bug with something that is causing a long delay, but most of these would be relatively obvious just looking at the boot process. That annoying Wacom serial input bug is an exception since the hangup takes place after X has started to start. No visual feedback on what's causing the delay.

I would suggest you start with a clean install of Debian 9 and then try to figure out what's causing the delay.

BTW, I have one laptop I just upgraded to Debian 9 which now is "slow" because it's in constant powersave mode. I suspect it's related to flakey hardware because the battery is bad and it may be reporting bad stuff to the OS. In Debian 8, I guess the OS ignored the bad data or something. This causes the CPU speed to be constantly at minimum (799Mhz which is only 1/3 of the potential CPU speed of 2.3Ghz). However, when I say "slow" I mean slow compared to its potential. It's still plenty responsive and this would not explain your severe slowness. ([edit added:] I see that your CPU current speed is 2900 out of 3000 Mhz, so that's definitely not the problem)

I precedently had slackware and it was ULTRASLOW in opening windows.
Yes, can be this is the problem, together the fact that Xwindow could use graphic acceleration when but i have broken drivers for it (see below).
Please solve this wacom!

Did you install Debian over the Slackware install? This can lead to a lot of weird problems. If you didn't explicitly install and configure sudo, then that means the binary file it is executing is from the Slackware install rather than the Debian install and ... uh ... strange side effects will ensue. Generally, there can be bizarre mismatches between the executables you are running and the libraries they are compiled for and even potential mismatches between kernel expectations. Things can get really strange if one install was 32-bit and the other was 64-bit.

I would recommend you try to do a clean Debian install. If you want to keep all of your current data, and you have at least 8GB of free space, then use a liveCD or something to move all of the existing contents into a safe folder name (such as /MyOldStuff). Then, you can install Debian over that partition without any risk of weird leftover files located where they can cause trouble.

Good point - considered that but couldn't find a hidden link :) It IS their first and only post so you are probably correct.
