EEEPC 1000H microphone doesn't work!
hi
I've skype installed on my notebook EEEPC 1000H with Debian Lenny, but the microphone doesn't work, it records only the rustling. I tried to change settings in alsamixer, but it doesn't help. |
I have not used debian, but in Ubuntu, it was using the newer sound server and some software did not like working with it unless you changed a lot of stuff. The next update to the sound server is supposed to be a lot better.

I tried to record a voice using Sound Recorder,
but I have the same problem, record only the rustling. this is very strange... |
this problem is solved !
I've installed the newest alsa 1.0.18.0 driver as deb file: http://www.linuxant.com/alsa-driver/ and it works perfectly now. greetings cccc |
Microphone doesn't work in Linux, but works in Windows with Skype?
I have installed Skype for Windows, and the microphone works in Windows XP, but when I installed Skype for Linux, yesterday, I found out everything's fine, except the microphone doesn't work. In Linux, I can't hear sounds from the soundcard if I plug it directly into the soundcard jack, but it works in Windows XP? Rather, I can only hear sounds by plugging the earphones into the jack in front to hear anything. This is the same type of microphone suggested by Skype for both Windows & Linux by Plantronics? How can I fix this? Thanks.
PS I have Fedora Core 9 by the way. I have Creative Labs Soundblaster Audigy 5.1. |

http://www.linuxant.com/alsa-driver/ for Fedora you need rpm file. |
It's really strange sometimes after debian updates install alsa driver again and again...

I tried this:
http://linux.seindal.dk/tag/asus-eeepc-1000h/ http://wiki.debian.org/DebianEeePC/HowTo/Sound but it doesn't help! The only solution at the moment seems to be to install the newest linuxant alsa-driver. |
