Sid vs Unstable
What is the defirents between sid and unstable. As much i know both are same. but got the defirents in file size of main package.
Get:3 http://mirrors.kernel.org unstable/main Packages [3111kB] Get:3 http://mirrors.kernel.org sid/main Packages [4129kB] |
Sid is the name of the unstable branch.
old stable = Woody stable = Sarge testing = Etch unstable = Sid I don't know why they are different sizes, though. |
Strange that it parses and tries both lines of sources.list
The default and latest is sid. Remove the line unstable |

They make the correction Code:
Get:3 http://mirrors.kernel.org sid/main Packages [3119kB] |
In fact you can see that mirrors.kernel.org resolve to 2 different adresses. So depending on when you query their dns you might fall on 204.152.191.7 or on 204.152.191.39. I don't know how they synchronise these 2 but it can take up to 24 hours to propagate the change.
Maybe try to use a dedicated debian server (http.us.debian.org) ? |
