Shrinking HD Capacity when Partitioning with debian CD installer (Basic Install)

Hi all.
I was installing debian for sparc mechine when I encounter this situation.

Lets say the total amount of my HD is 4.3G, I choose to do the partitioning manualy.
When first I delete all content of the HD, its shows free space of 4.3G. Then when I set the
/boot section for some 100M++, then the remaining free space drops extremly, remaining only about 400M! Where are the remaining 3G space?

What actually happen here maybe relates to some misconfiguration. If any common mistake that
leads/produce similar outcomes, please give me some hint/tips . I really appreciate it very2 much.

For your information,
I tried to use the default 'all files in one partition' but it always shows '.... to many (primary)
partitions in partition table....'that's why I tried to use set up partition manually.

Help realy appreciated.
Thanks to all.

Zakidad.
