Setting up document root on Debian

Hi

I've been setting up some services on a Debian Etch box (Apache2, Postfix, etc) and I'm about to set up a webmail solution. I'm looking into Squirrelmail, and installed it with 'apt-get install'.
But Squirrelmail is installed into /usr/share/squirrelmail. I now wonder hos I set up Document root under Apache. Do I point DocumentRoot to /usr/share/squirrelmail, or do I copy everything from /usr/share/squirrelmail to a folder under /var/www ?
What is normal? It seems like I also run into the same problem if I decide to run Horde and Imp as a webmail solution as well, since apt-get install put's it into /usr/share/horde.

How do I solve the problem with configuring DocumentRoot?

/A.

Try a sym-link from one dir into the other. Syntax:
Code:
ln -s <from-directory> <to-directory>

But what about the rights on the folders in the folder structure? Any thing I have to take into consideration when it comes to them?

Good question. Haven't done what you did (yet?) so I can't tell you. Sorry

But is sym linking the way to go? I guess I will achieve the same thing by editing the config file for the website, and have DocumentRoot point to /usr/share/squirrelmail?
