Selecting and installing packages.
Hi everyone -
I have recently installed a fresh copy of Debian onto my PC via net install. Due to my low-grade ISP, during the net-install my internet connection timed out numerous times, causing some packages to not install properly. Now I was aware of this happening, but I thought I'd be able to get into Gnome to fix the broken packages via synaptic later, but it turns out I can't. Xwindows won't even start properly (startx) My question is how do I get back to the graphical installer section where it has "select and install packages". I'm sure it is an easy command but I'm not sure what it is. Right now I am stuck at the command prompt. Thanks Everyone. |
It's sorted.
NM everyone.
I had to reinstall Gnome which was odd but hey it's working now. Ta. |
Good its working now
I assume what you were looking for were either aptitude or dselect even tasksel for simpler choosing. |
