I have put together an easy to read step-by-step guide utilizing a script based method for Debian GNU/Linux installations. Although the idea is certainly not original, I found that good instructions were often lacking. I wrote this document in an effort to improve the initial install experience and post-install configuration.
The complete guide is approximately 15 pages in length and readily available at
http://www.ahrenstorff.us ...look for the Debian installation guide in OpenOffice.org format. It's designed to be a starting point for Linux user groups or interested individuals to assist with all manner of Debian installations. It requires the new Debian installer and the included script results in a very nice Gnome desktop. Customizing this simple script method allows for an endless diversity of packages and various system designs while maintaining 100% compatability with Debian repositories.
This is my first "comprehensive" attempt at installing Debian and I did a fair amount of trouble shooting but it's not perfect yet. So I'm certainly willing to accept suggestions and continue this little project.
Thanks and have fun...
