Save session for future logins

Hi,

I am using Debian 9 XFCE. I have run apt-get update and

apt-get dist-upgrade. What I want to know is if I enable

the "save session for future logins" will the system use the old

libraries instead of the upgraded ones ?

No, Save sessions is just a desktop setting. It does not affect updates

What happens is when I login gkrellm flashes for a second then disappears.

Code:
$ pgrep gkrellm
1063
I have unchecked the "Save session for future logins".

Solved it.

Session and Startup > Session > Clear saved sessions > Reboot.
