Installing Debian On SATA

Hi, i have tried almost every single other distro, and now i want to tackle debian. I have tried installing debian before, but quickly gave up do to the extremely crappy installer, but due to the improvements made by the debian installer project, and the existence of progeny's anaconda installer, i want to try again. But as of now, I have been unable to get either version to recognize my sata drive. I would appreciate help getting either of them to recognize my sata drive. I am using the onboard controller on my P4C800-e deluxe, with a 120gb seagate 7200.7 hdd, Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

The installation CD needs to be based on a kernel that recognizes your SATA drives. Not much you can do until it is provided.

I don't know if this will meet your needs, but I succeeded in installing the Debian based Libranet distro on SATA drives when the very nice Libranet support folks provided me with a beta install CD image.
