sarge and centericq

I was curious... Does anybody know when a working version of centericq will make it to sarge?

Right before the freeze a problem came up where MSN segfaults when logging on which kills centericq completely. I'm new to the release cycle but from what I can muster up from reading the release cycle stuff on wikipedia and trying to contact the package maintainer himself... Sarge is never going to get a working version of centericq now that it is considered 'stable'.

Is this really the case? Will all packages like this just eventually break as the rest of the world progresses along like normal?

Thanks,

Sarge will only receive security updates now that it is "stable."

Hopefully Etch won't be testing for three years.

Thanks for the reply. So stable really means... 'we'll let you ride this dead release down the tubes'. That sounds like a great plan. I don't care about revisions and new releases... But I'd have figured making sure that everything continued to function would be part of any release that wasn't EOL.
