Samba - Configuration tool GUI
Hello,
Is there some kind of GUI based configuration tool for Samba.
There is "system-config-samba" in Fedora Core 3.
Is there something similar for Debian Sarge 3.1?
Or I need to configure it myself changing text files?
Thanks

SWAT is the Samba Web Administration Tool and it allows control of most Samba settings through your web browser.
Code:
aptitude install swat
Make sure you read the documentation though, as you need to tweak a couple of config files (/etc/inetd.conf and/or services) to allow yourself to access once it's installed.

there's also a webmin-samba package. It uses the webmin package and allows you to configure samba through a web browser

I prefer text files myself... the trouble is that you usually need to find a good reference to use when editing them without being completely lost or screwing your configuration. I've seen a few.. google until you find one you like if you decide to go this route.

For a definitive source of Samba information, pick up a copy of "Samba Unleashed".
