run amd64 binary on 32bit kernel ?

Hello, i have dedicated host in server4you.de, and i'm trying to reinstall their standard system.

i booted to rescue mode (its ubuntu 32bit), and i installed amd 64 debian on mounted disk, but i can't chroot there:

chroot: cannot run command `/bin/bash': Exec format error

its becouse i'm booted to 32bit kernel, so it can't run /bin/bash that is 64bit

but without chrooting i will have trouble making this system able to boot i think. (how do i install lilo and such?)

so what can i do? i can't install any new software as ubuntu is mostly read-only (at least its /usr /bin and such)

of course i have writable space, but on other disk... any ideas?

i don't know german, so i can't even ask server4you.de users how they deal with it..

You can ask the people on the English version: http://www.server4you.com/

server4you.com has nothing to do with server4you.de, thats what i was told on server4.you.com chat, besides its more technical thing than server4you thing and it all depends on the dedicated server control panel - if it doesnt have option to boot amd64 kernel then i can't boot it and i have to handle it another way.

i have to run it somehow on 32 kernel, or somehow run 64bit kernel from within 32bit kernel, or maybe not even chroot it...

any ideas how to do it?
