rpm have --nodeps option with dpkg is such an option available

Hello,
I am wondering whether in debian's apt or dpkg have the "nodependecies" switch available while installing packages as with RH's rpm..
Code:

rpm -ivh foobar.rpm --nodeps
help.Thanks

dpkg --force-depends -i foobar.deb
Discaimer: dpkg is probably a lot smarter than you when it comes to package management...you've been warned. ;)

is it be useful if we want to remove any package without having dependecy mess.
EDIT:just found soltn
Code:

sarge:~# dpkg --purge  --ignore-depends=locales locales
the option is --ignore-depends=package name.
Thanks t All.
