Resolution is stuck?
I just recently switched to Debian (Sarge) from Fedora Core 3. I absolutely love it. However, I can't get my resolution to go any higher than 1024x768 in X. I have changed my XF86Config-4 file, that's all set. It seems to me as if those settings are being ignored, or something. Is there another configuration file somewhere that could be causing trouble? I'm just about stumped with this. I've never had any problems with any other distros. Any ideas?

Have you changed all the lines in your XF86Config-4 file? You need to add the new resolution to each of them. Which window manager/desktop environment are you running. If it's KDE or Gnome and maybe in XFCE4 you need to change it in the control center as well.

Do you have drivers installed for your video card? Have you tried with
"dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86" |
Well, I was using the normal xfree radeon driver, but I just installed the fglrx driver, and am using it. The resolution is all sorted out, now I just need to get the kernel modules compiled for fglrx. =D Thanks for your help, though! :)
