repositories for kanotix

Kanotix Hellfire 2011 on Compaq. Long time pclos/mandriva user. Trying kanotix. Why are adobereader, flash, frostwire and others that are readily available in the pclos/mdv not available in deb repos? Aren't those common?

I believe adding debian-multimedia to repos is supposed to fix this? Is debian leaning more to free software than non-free?

Thanks

Debian includes NO non free soft ware. There are repos for it though. See this link;
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...e-list-330913/

Go to the last page unless you want repos for really old Debian.

Add the suckers to your sources list and you will find what you need. The packages may have different names (at least slightly).

Add the debian-multimedia.org repo
apt-get update
apt-get install acroread mozilla-acroread flashplayer-mozilla

Debian Social Contract - http://www.debian.org/social_contract#guidelines

For Frostwire just download it from http://www.frostwire.com/download/?os=ubuntu&
then use dpkg -i to install it.
