remote access

hi. i am running sarge and i would like to be able to access it remotely from my office (it runs windows xp). the manager is kde. i cannot install vnc or any other programs in my office computers (windows).

vnc has a web server portion so you can access the desktop using a web browser provided your network at wok does not have the necessary ports blocked.

You can use putty on a windows machine to get shell access to your Linux box via ssh.
you can use puttys scp utility to transfer files from your work machine to hime and vice versa over ssh...
Again the port for this needs to be open in your work network. (port 22)
putty uses tand alone executables so there is nothing to install

and of course you can tunnel may other access methods over ssh...
