Question about update release and onboard nic

Does anyone know if the lastest update to Debian 3.1r5 still has a problem with detecting onboard nic cards? I know the next debian release 4.0 has no problem, but I feel more comfortable dealing with and installing only stable releases.

Not so much a problem.. it just may not have the drivers for the onboard NIC..

One reason to go to etch is the improved hardware detection and larger driver selection built in.

etch may be called testing right now, but it's in the final stretch to become the next 'stable'. and I find it VERY stable on the systems I have it running on.. quite honestly theres no reason to fear etch for stability at this point. I would only hold off, if it were a production server
