Question Qonfusion

Howdy,

I just installed KDevelope and it looks really cool. But I'm running into a small problem, whenever I click on Build->Configure, it claims that the QT3 headers and libs are not found

Exact Error:
checking for Qt... configure: error: Qt (>= Qt 3.1.0) (headers and libraries) not found. Please check your installation!
For more details about this problem, look at the end of config.log.

when I run dselect it seems to show that the QT3 headers are installed... Anyway, any of you guys out there know exactly what deb files I should install?

try this and see if it works. the package is actually libqt3-dev found here ==> http://packages.debian.org/stable/devel/libqt3-dev.html

Code:
apt-get install libqt3-dev

I have libqt3-mt-dev installed. If I do an echo $QTDIR it gives me /usr/lib/qt3 Yet it still won't let me do an xconfig for the kernel or let me compile my own projects in kdevelop

check the makefile (I'm not sure WHERE in KDevelop this is...)
but somewhere you have a setting something like '-lqt' and you need to change this to '-lqt-mt'

see if that works. I don't remember WHERE exactly to change it in KDevelop itself but right now I'm using qmake and vi so I change it in the makefiles qmake creates.

libqt3-mt-dev and libqt3-dev are different sets of libs. according to debian.org the libqt3-dev contains the header files, of which the profile for libqt3-mt-dev makes no mention of having. i would still install the libqt3-dev and see where that gets you. it may just be the solution.
