problem with adobe flash player in Debia x86_64
i have a problem with flash player in debian etch 4.0r3 x86_64 it just won't work,i have been on this site www.dipconsultants.com/debian i have did everything there but browser says RROR: ld.so: object '/usr/lib/libartsc.so.0' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded: ignored.
LoadPlugin: failed to initialize shared library /home/ankhsunamun/.mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so [/home/ankhsunamun/.mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory] and i have checked for the file,and he is on the place where it should be? any solution for this???????? |
For flash to work on a 64bit machine, you need to use nspluginwrapper. The easiest way to do this is just to install via
apt-get install flashplayer-nonfree or apt-get install flashplugin-mozilla I'm not sure which one is available in etch. |

It's there, I don't know what repo you would need in your sources.list to get to it, but you could always download it and use dpkg -i .... |
The package names are "flashplayer-mozilla" and "flashplugin-nonfree"... I suggest you don't blindly follow what somebody tells you, but always check package names for yourself. And yes, do use the "multimedia" and "unofficial" repositories, many respondents on these forums assume that you do (it's so elementary).
