For flash to work on a 64bit machine, you need to use nspluginwrapper. The easiest way to do this is just to install via
apt-get install flashplayer-nonfree
or
apt-get install flashplugin-mozilla

I'm not sure which one is available in etch.

I'm sure one, or both, of those is available, either in backports or debian-multimedia ... if not the official repositories.

http://packages.debian.org/etch-back...plugin-nonfree

It's there, I don't know what repo you would need in your sources.list to get to it, but you could always download it and use dpkg -i ....

The package names are "flashplayer-mozilla" and "flashplugin-nonfree"... I suggest you don't blindly follow what somebody tells you, but always check package names for yourself. And yes, do use the "multimedia" and "unofficial" repositories, many respondents on these forums assume that you do (it's so elementary).
