problem installing debian 3.1 on a server with LSI Logic 53c1010 SCSI Card
Hi I am a system adminitrator and I have tried very hard to convince my management to use linux. They have infact responded positively, but the problem is that We have a server designed by HP, which uses the Symbios LSI Logic Card 53C1010-66(SCSI Adapter).I dont know how to install the driver before installation, and I personally choose Debian for installation on our server.
Now I am in a fix because my management has responded positively, but still I cant set up the Server. Kindly help me as soon as possible!! |
Try using the sym53c8xx driver. I know that it doesn't appear to be the right one, but check out this changelog entry:

thank you for your reply,
but do you know how do we install a driver before installation. PLZ Help me. thank you |
I would have thought that the install process would automatically detect the card and load the correct driver module.
