Unhappy Problem installing

okay so after a million hours trying to find an empty CD in my house I finally got one... burned debian and all that fun stuff and then when I boot from the cd it gives me that debian welcome screen and all... but when it asks for the language the screen becomes all squished to the side so I can't really read what it says... seriously like 3/4's of the screen is blacked out... yeah and... I don't know what's going on =/

You can press F2 and/or F3 for boot options, but you will want something like
linux vga=normal

When you're at that welcome screen you *should* be able to hit the f2 and/or f3 key(s) to bring up a list of boot option that you would type on the commandline before hitting the enter key...

If that doesn't work...try just typing linux vga=normal, and then hit enter, it may want to ask for a setting (or is that knoppix?)...80x25 is normal...
