Problem Accessing Large RAID Array

Running 2.6.8 Kernel and Sarge

I just installed my new RAID card (HighPoint RocketRAID 2220) and 8 drives.
I did a quick test with only 4 drives and created the array then booted into debian did a cfdisk of /dev/sda and the array showed up fine (900 gb).

So I rebooted and got into the RAID BIOS and destroyed the old array and created a new 8 drive array. I booted into debian and now when I do a cfdisk /dev/sda I get this error
"FATAL ERROR: Cannot open disk drive"

Is there some kernel option that I need to see a "drive" of this size?

I got it working.
Turns out the driver was not loading properly.
