Are you using wireless, is this your ethernet? Which 1?
Obviously you have network, because you're able to install with apt-get.
On my system I'm not using the ethernet so I had to install bridge-utils & ebtables to create a bridge on wireless.
Also you can install firmware-realtek to get rid of error message & also be able to

Solve what? Are you having any issues with anything?
What you are seeing is a message advising you of something, that is all.

The answer is simple. Install firmware-realtek and be done with it.

Hah, simple answer to a simple question. Not to argue but I wouldn't personally bother installing a package I didn't actually need.
Sorry, I'm not in front of a PC right now but I think this is either due to the Debian kernel automatically loading modules for the wireless drivers or to some other application, WICD springs to mind, being installed which has hooks for the firmware. I have safely ignored it for what seems a long time.

yes, it looks like r8169 cannot be handled properly. Install firmware-realtek and check dmesg if it solves this issue. Using another firmware will/may lower the throughput.

Maybe if the OP posted the output of lspci and lsusb to share what his/her WiFi hardware is, we might have an idea if this package is needed or not. I was mistaken to automatically assume the realtek-firmware package is needed, but then I suppose, it could be a mistake to assume the firmware isn't needed. I've just never seen an output like this in a Debian stable release in 10 years of use. I have seen similar in Debian Sid though. However, the OP is using Debian Jessie.

So I guess before anymore advice is provided "TNT BOM BOM" needs to post the output of:

Code:
 lspci -k
Code:
lsusb ; lsusb -t
If a Realtek wifi card is short on firmware, install the realtek-firmware package. If not, safely ignore the output.

Sorry, yes, now I read back I realise that the missing firmware may be for a wired card. I've a strange feeling I had something similar while installing this system -- it wasn't actually required for operation but, presumably, allowed better control over the card.

Well, quite, I should perhaps have expanded that everything worked fine without the firmware but I don't use gigabit ethernet so I can't comment on that but everything else seemed no different with or without.

So it seems that the missing firmware isn't for your controller.

yeah correct , im using the ethernet now everything working well. but if its really this firmware is not needed i wonder why someone would headache our heades with this message since its useless (hope debian find out how to deal with these messages).
I've a feeling that Debian has been set up in such a way that it looks for all possible firmware when building the initramfs to be on the safe side.
mralk3's remarks about only seeing this on Sid (I only run Sid) makes me wonder whether it's something that's trickled down to stable with the particular kernel version.
On the above evidence I would think it is completely safe to ignore but if installing the firmware makes it go away and you prefer not to see the error I see no harm in that either. With things like this I tend to just install the darn package just to keep the noise floor a little lower as regards errors.
If I manage to find some motivation in the next couple of days I may try to replicate the error to try to understand it.

Possible missing firmware /lib/firmware/rtl_nic/rtl8168g-3.fw for module r816

Makes me wonder what other drivers / modules are being checked in memory that aren't needed in the initrd. Seems to me that it would make more sense for the ram disk to be generated based on things that are actually needed, and therefore, installed on the system.

I've a feeling that the Debian kernel is fairly large on inclusions and this happens to be an anomaly where the kernel doesn't match the packages installed by default.
