PM 8500- new twist, same result?

so the effort continues... moved the machine to a fast LAN and did a HTTP/FTP install- everything installed, the system was made 'bootable' and i proceeded to restart (by the way- there really needs to be a way to create a bootable floppy from the install program)

so I notice in the partition table that on my 2 drives- one I've set up& installed Debian, the other is still partitioned with Mac OS drivers, etc. AND they are both on the same SCSI bus. So the dual startup chime I was hearing I'm now thinking is both OS's trying to startup on the same machine. But I power down, disconnect the MAC oS drive and still the same thing- disk w/? (after this power down I did not reinstall the Debian OS, maybe try this tomorrow, but I was pretty frustrated) And I'm thinking now that maybe I should separate the drives onto different buses. Right now there are 4 devices on the 1 internal SCSI chain- sda, sdb, CD, CDRW

Anybody have a thought on this?
