For days and weeks I am trying to install Sarge. I got 12 CD's, but installer don't work. I downloaded netinst from Debian.org (ver. 20040130)... still nothing.

Please, post a link to a WORKING installer for Debian Sarge, or give a detalied instructions on how to install these 12 CD's...

For now, I work with HD install of Knoppix 3.4 live.

imiloje, which mirror did you use to obtain that netinst (ver. 20040130)? Can you give us the address? I'm curious why you downloaded something so old i.e. a January, 2004 image? I thought for someone who have heard about the D-I, should also know where to look for the latest right?

And those 12 CDs? I thought somebody mentioned that those 12-14 CDs were meant to be a joke to see which clown actually goes download all of them instead of just the first one? I thought the very first CD would do the job? I installed my Sarge using the D-I RC1 (1 CD only).

Release Candidate 2 (the latest)

This is the Sarge net-installer-rc2, it has all the bugs from rc1 fixed. Read the errata.

It isn't that the twelve CD's are a joke. You pick the CD's that you need, download and burn them, then you have a base set of CD's that you can install from when you are in a place that does not have network access. You will note that a large number of those CD's are architecture specific, and I highly doubt that there are that many people out there that have all of those architectures (although I am getting closer...already have four architectures from that list...)

The most recent Sarge update has 14 CDs. I downloaded the first eight, and have had to use them all at one point or another in installation.
