phpMyAdmin

I just install phpMyAdmin and can't seem to get mysql data to open in the phpMyAdmin web,
I can get into it only to find that I have no privileges to get a database, I'm looking to get it right, so I went to find the file config.default.php to configure it, It's not in my files? Need some direction.

You have to be the admin (usually root) user in the same way you would have to authorise yourself via the command line in mysql. When you go to http://localhost/phpMyAdmin/index.php it will request a login and you must use the same name and password that was used to identify the administrator in mysql which is normally root.

It opens, However I get this error message,
#2002 - The server is not responding (or the local MySQL server's socket is not correctly configured)

You'll have to check the mysql configuration.
