packaging perl modules

hello. I am currently trying to make a deb package out of some perl modules that aren't in the debian repository. I have successfuly packages a few programs before, but do not know what to do with a perl module, due to the lack of an automake system. any help would be apreciated. Thanks

I seem to remember reading that debhelper with dh_perl is part of the method of doing it I think it was on the debian-dev list I seen that perhaps asking on that mailing list would get you the information you require or maybe even the debian mentors mailing list you can find both list address at http://lists.debian.org.
