OSS and Full duplex !!!!

Hello everyone,
I am tryin to use genomemeeting but it seems that I need to activate the full duplex
feature.
I tired doing that directly from the kde control center->sound&multimedia->sound system and tickin the full duplex box.
then I tired doing test sound using that button in the main tab of the soundsystem
but I heard almost nothing just a scratch from my speakers. I Thought may b its
something normal so I clicked ok and found that my CPU usage have gone to 100%.
doing a simple "top" told me that the arts is the one causing the problem.
I tired disabling the full duplex option in the same way I activated it and surprisingly the
CPU usage went down to normal.
My sound card type "lspci":
0000:00:06.0 Multimedia audio controller: ALi Corporation M5451 PCI AC-Link Controller Audio Device (rev 01)

I don't use ALSA cause I had alot of problems getting it working (posted a separate thread).
I am using OSS along with KDE 3.2.2 and kernel 2.6.6 (debian sarge).

Thank you in advance.

Looks like you need alsa and alsa driver snd-ali5451

Not sure what to do about your alsa problem though

(edit) you need the alsa driver to get full duplex
