opera 8.52 and 8.54 crash-and firefox 1.0.4 problem

in the beginning opera just crashed when i visited specific pages. Then it crashed after closing a tab sometimes after i had opened opera! By crash i mean, that it stopped responding.

So i moved to firefox. Some words of texts (for ex are not readable, unless i choose the text with the cursor.

I don't have a browser

I am using gentoo and everything is OK.
How did you install opera? via emerge?
I installed my opera by rpm.
First you emerge rpm
then you download the opera package from and do the rpm -ivh --nodeps.
It worked for me.
