openoffice buggers truetype font server xfftt?
 

Use xfstt, x true type font server, because it's normally easy, to give fonts to Debian Sarge from a vfat partition.

When ooffice was installed the true type fonts dissapeared from everything, abiword, gimp.

Open office had added some stuff to xfstt's font directory. Uninstalled oo and removed this stuff and tt fonts returned. Don't know which of the two actions, or both of them did it.

Any advice for tt fonts, or for that matter a reasonable number of fonts - oo only allowed about 15, with oo? Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure what you did to add the fonts, but normally adding them to /usr/share/fonts/subdir/ en restarting xfs-xtt is enough.

OOo accepts all fonts xfs-xtt says are available.
