OpenGL screensaver slow
Dear all:
I just installed Debian sarge with nvidia GeForce driver 7664. I followed the instruction posted on the nivdia website. It seems to be a successful installation. However when I test the GL screensavers, they appear to be slow. Weird! I ever tried ubuntu and it works very well. Should I backtrack to ubuntu or... Thanks in advance! |
Have you done the usual "glxgears" test to see if you get a decent frame rate?
If not then you probably still have driver issues. Have you used any other opengl apps successfully? |
I just ran PlanetPenguin-Racer. Even Weird! The frame rate is fine!
I don't know why only the screensaver is slow.??? |
My screensavers acting up too. I'm running suse 9.3, nvidia mx4000 128mb video card. glxgears shows me to be at about 1200 fps, but after the first 5 or so entries it slows to around 800, then 300, then 100, then back up to 1200 and stays up. my 3d games play ok, but my gl screensavers are kinda...jittery (for lack of a better term). ive tried upgrading to the newest drivers, then downgrading to older versions and no fix, any suggestions?
Thanks |
