Open Office Calc in Debian Sid

Im having some weird issues with Open Office Calc, I posted in the desktop applications section and from the feedback it seems im doing it correctly so it ust be something odd with OO right now.

I Cant get numbers to multiply, or add or anything, I checked to make sure the formatting is correct but nothing.

Lets say in A1 I have 2 and in A2 I have 3, then in A3 I put =A1+A2 it will display 23, like it concatenated them instead. And if I replace "+" with any other math symbol like * or / it will just display 'True" or "False"

Anyone else experiencing this?

Try this in A3: =SUM(A1:A2).

Sounds like your cells aren't formatted correctly. Make sure they are formatted as numbers, not "text", "general", or something else.

Edit: After perusing the rest of the unread posts, I see that you posted this question twice. Very juvenile and unhelpful.

Diddnt I mention this in the very first post?

The other thread was helpful in determining that My settings are all correct and nothing "should" be wrong, so I posted here to see if the problem could be with the program itself, and the only people who can help with that would be other Sid users who could check on a fully updated system. this was the purpose, I stated that clearly :P

That works!, but all the Open office guide ive seen show the "=A1+A2" method, replacing the + with any other mathematical symbol. How can I go about multiplying and such with that format? (or was that just to test if something was formatted incorrectly?)

It is formatted with Numbers and then general, that is also the default it seems. So that isn't the issue.

[Edit]
Seems Open office is in a transitional state, half the packages are updated another bunch held back due to 1-2 updated dependencies not yet in the repository, maybe thats the cause? (this is why I posted in this forum)
