Only getting 800 x 600

Ok I've installaed debian for the first time and have installed it with the netinst debian installer iso and the downloaded and installed everything on apt to start my system. The problem is that I use everything just fine but my resolution is at 800 x 600 and when I go to the app to resize the screen it only gives me two options: 800 x 600 and 640 x480. Now How can I change my resolution to 1024 x 768?
-Thanks

Just Sorry, I was going to come back and edit the post, I was in a hurry when I wrote that so I couldn't get the real meaning of that. I'll edit the post as I was intended to do before I read this from you.
