No Wi-Fi whit Linux kernel 3.1.5 and Ath AR9287

I downloaded the last stable Linux Kernel (3.1.5) and I customized it enabling just an option in the kernel customization (tcpprobe). The rest is the same.
Then I compiled, installed, updated the grub.
All is ok. No errors got out.
Using this new kernel, verified with
Code:
 uname -a
, wi-fi doesn't work. Tough I push the key to enable it, nothing happens.
I took a look to
Code:
 lspci
and my wireless card got out.
Instead, using my actual kernel all works.
My wireless card is Atheros AR9287.

Suggestions??

First boot into the custom kernel and post some outputs
Code:
lsmod | grep ath9k
Code:
modprobe -r ath9k && modprobe ath9k

Cool

I had the same problem, I solved by enabling Atheros ath9k PCI/PCIe bus support.
ATH9K_PCI=y, which is located into:
Quote:
-> Device Drivers
-> Network device support (NETDEVICES [=y])
-> Wireless LAN (WLAN [=y])
-> Atheros Wireless Cards (ATH_COMMON [=y])
-> Atheros 802.11n wireless cards support (ATH9K [=y])

Hope this helps

t.
