Unhappy No USB in Debian 5.0 "Lenny"

I had debian 4 "etch" installed and every thing work fine, except sometimes flash, so when "lenny" come out , I backup my data to an USB external hard drive, and formated my PC and installed "lenny", every thing was fine until I try to connect my external hard drive to a USB port, to replace my data. For my surprise the USB don't work... I tryed to understand why and for what I can see and understand, at startup sequence the irq19 is disabled.
How can I fix this....
HELP ME, I need the data in my external hard drive to work.

Boot up without the USB drive connected. After booting, plug in the USB drive and take a look at the output of dmesg | tail. This may give you some clues as to what is happening.

How did you install Lenny?
