no panel on kde startup

i finally got debian to work, started with woody and installed lots and lots of unstable/testing stuff. and man does it look nice.

anyhow, when i start up kde, i dont get a panel. if i run the command 'panel' the panel config window pops up and after pressing okay the panel appears.

any ideas? im using kde 3.1.2

- if anyone's having problems with X and a gf4 try using the vesa driver.

i dont know what the problem was but it's gone now.
