no option of connecting to network, network card doesnt appear (Atheros AR5B93)

I am really new to this and have recently installed Privatix Live-System on a 4GB USB i have. The installation appeared to go ok but when booting from the USB for some reason i cant seem to connect to the internet or find any networks.

Can anyone tell me how to find out if my network card is there? Or if I am doing something stupid. My network card is Atheros AR5B93 Wireless Network Adapter. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am really new to this.

Thanks in advance

Well, it seems that it should be supported just fine in kernels after 2.6.28. Unfortunately, it appears from distrowatch that Privatix Live-System has a 2.6.26, which means it must be based on Lenny (oldstable).

You can try following the directions for Lenny (i.e. using Lenny backports). Otherwise, you'll probably have to compile your own kernel, and possibly the wireless-tools.

Seem to have somehow managed to find the network card and can now attempt to connect. However when I try and connect it says

Enter password for to unlock your login keyring

Your login keyring did not get unlocked when you logged into your computer

Can you tell me what this means? I have tried to enter the password I used when I installed however this does not work. I have not used any other passwords yet so I cannot change the password by going into "password and encryption keys" again it needs the original to change it. I have also tried leaving it blank but I have not luck with that either.

Thanks again
