No kernel source tree?

Running Debian Vanilla version.
uname gives me 2.2.20 kernel, whereis kernel gives me nothing. There is no kernel source installed and while looking on all 7 of the cd's I can't find the source for the 2.2.20 kernel, just the 2.4.18.

My problem is I can't just download the 2.2.20 source because I have no network drivers on my PC.(I'm at work right now) And while trying to install the BCM4400 drivers for my network card it just gives me no source tree found.

Is the source hidden somewhere on the cd and named weird or something?

Why do you want the 2.2 source? The kernel is up to version 2.6.4 now, and so 2.4 is pretty stable. I suggest you install a 2.4 kernel first, and then install the network drivers. However, if you have the debian cds with source, then it's bound to be on there somewhere. Also "whereis kernel" will not return anything, since the kernel is:
a) Never usually found in an executable path
b) Never usually called "kernel"

If kernel source is installed, it should be under /usr/src/linux (which is a symlink to /usr/src/kernel-something)
If it's not installed, and you let apt scan your CDs when promped, give
apt-get install kernel-source-2.2.20

PS: when looking for a non-executable file, use "locate -i". See manpage
