Did it work before, what did you change then?
Try to do /etc/init.d/networking restart |

What computer, NIC and which driver do you use?
jlinkels |
from #lspci
Ethernet controller: 3Com Corporation 3c905B 100BaseTX [Cyclone] (rev 30) Host bridge: Intel Corporation 440BX/ZX/DX - 82443BX/ZX/DX Host bridge (rev 03) Bridge: Intel Corporation 82371AB/EB/MB PIIX4 ACPI (rev 02) |
Hmm that is about the most widely used NIC, si it is unlikely that it is a driver error.
Have you tried to swap the nic for another one? jlinkels |
I have 2 NICs one for WAN and the other for LAN, I will switch their functionality and report.
|
I switched the 2 NICs, connecting the netgear "eth0 to the adsl, it
still gives the same problem, which is, if I #ifdown -a for some long time and then #ifup -a, and ping www.google.com, I get, unable to find host. |
