NO BOOTLOG MESSAGES after Kernel Update on Debian Sarge

hi

I've done a Kernel Update on my Debian Sarge Stable server:
Code:
# apt-get install kernel-image-2.6.8-2-686
if I boot now from the new Kernel,
I don't get any bootlog messages in /var/log/boot

bootlogd in /etc/default/bootlogd is already enabled:
Code:
:
BOOTLOGD_ENABLE=Yes
during the boot process I get the following error:
Code:
 bootlogd: ioctl (/dev/ttyzf, TIOCCONS): Bad file descriptor
greetings
cccc
