network problems in persistent live usb-hdd

hi

I've created live squeeze usb-hdd with live-rw persistent partition.
If I boot usb-hdd for the first time, network is up.
Now if I try to boot a different computer or notebook, then the network doesn't come up automatically.
Using ifconfig -a, the network card will be identified as eth0, on other computers as eth1, eth2, eth3 etc.
The network seems to be persistent as well:
Code:
# cat /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules
# This file was automatically generated by the /lib/udev/write_net_rules
# program, run by the persistent-net-generator.rules rules file.
#
# You can modify it, as long as you keep each rule on a single
# line, and change only the value of the NAME= key.

# PCI device 0x1106:0x3065 (via-rhine)
SUBSYSTEM=="net", ACTION=="add", DRIVERS=="?*", ATTR{address}=="00:11:09:02:6b:cb", ATTR{dev_id}=="0x0", ATTR{type}=="1", KERNEL=="eth*", NAME="eth1"

# PCI device 0x8086:0x107c (e1000)
SUBSYSTEM=="net", ACTION=="add", DRIVERS=="?*", ATTR{address}=="00:0e:0c:73:b2:07", ATTR{dev_id}=="0x0", ATTR{type}=="1", KERNEL=="eth*", NAME="eth0"

# PCI device 0x8086:0x100e (e1000)
SUBSYSTEM=="net", ACTION=="add", DRIVERS=="?*", ATTR{address}=="00:08:74:de:ab:4b", ATTR{dev_id}=="0x0", ATTR{type}=="1", KERNEL=="eth*", NAME="eth2"
Howto create a live to remove /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules every time during the startup?

If you delete that file:
/etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules
it will be created during boot. It then will be "correct".
How exactly to do that in your case (persistent USB-Stick) is beyond me.

Does not look like your problem is mentioned there:
http://www.debianuserforums.org/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=185
but that is the guy you will want to ask.

good luck
