network/options is deprecated

Well, I just want to know what exactly means that "network/options is deprecated"

I'm running Debian Sid, so far, I read some comments about this matter but I have to say that I'm still have questions about it

I mean:

What exactly this mean?

This could be a problem or it's just a message?

If it's a problem, have a solution?

I read that a possible solution is just remove the options file, maybe I missunderstand that so thats why I'm asking

Edit: (Just adding more info just in case will be needed)

I'm using 2.6.15-1 kernel and my /etc/network/options have this:

Code:

cat /etc/network/options
ip_forward=no
spoofprotect=yes
syncookies=no

Thanks by any response

Bye

It means that file should not be used because support for it will eventually disappear. You can safely delete the file. The options you have set are better set via /etc/sysctl.conf
