Need higher resolution

Hi, I just installed Sarge and everything's great except I'm getting a max resolution of 800x600. I tried running xf86config and entering everything manually but I had to go back to my old setup because X wouldn't start. I have an ATI 128MB video card so I'm using the ati (generic) driver and my screen is autodetected fine (a Dell M991).
Here is my /etc/X11/XF86Config-4

Can I just add "1024x768" in the Modes lines or do I need to do something more detailed?
Thanks.

yeah, in each of the mode lines, just remove everything and replace it with "1024x768". it should then adjust properly.
