need help again (kde broken after apt-get install)

I managed to brake my kde again after doing a apt-get install of some program.

The generated errors:
trying to overwrite `/usr/share/mimelnk/application/vnd.sun.xml.calc.desktop', which is also in package openoffice-de-en
dpkg-deb: subprocess paste killed by signal (Broken pipe)

[...]

Errors were encountered while processing:
/var/cache/apt/archives/kdelibs-data_4%3a3.2.2-2_all.deb
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

The generated problems:
some links broken, konsole doesn't close, etc

A possible solution:
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/history/159003
Which I tried, but then got errors about depeny problems etc.

Any HELP would be REALLY APPRECIATED.

Thank you for your answer chakkerz. The problem with doing what you suggested is that I think it will lead to my previous problem with kde (as posted some posts below), being that it completely broke kde. That's why maybe somehow can point me to another solution in case the proble arise again.

well when you have a problem with the solution to a prior problem, you maybe should mention the first problem in your post?

This appears to be the same program that's causing problems in the link you provide.

The conflict with vnd.sun.xml.calc.desktop, which apparently must be installed for you to install/upgrade KDE, is with openoffice-de-en.

Uninstall openoffice-de-en, then upgrade KDE, then see if you can reinstall openoffice. Of the two, OpenOffice.org seems to be more expendable than your DE of choice.

I had a similar problem with another file but I dont recall which exaclty. Whay you might do is force an overwrite with dpkg -i --force-overwrite /var/cache/apt/archives/name of package

Not doing any homework I cant gaurantee this will work, but I was using knoppix at the time and the file was boud to a package that it normally was not bound to, again I dont recall forgive the sketchy info.

This may fix the problem, it may cause others, proceed with caution.
