need a ftp program

I need a ftp program to upload and download files from my websites. I am currently using wsftp on my MS system. Is there a similar program for linux?

how about "ftp" that's a good start... personally i quite like gftp too.

gftp is my favourite, but you may also want to take a look at kbear and kasablanca.

Or if you are a firefox user, check out the fireFTP extension. It is like having Filezilla incorporated into Firefox. I have been using it for a couple days and I like it better than Gftp, which is a pretty cool client.

Thanks everyone, I will probably start with fireftp first.

I'll second this - I've been using it for a week or 2 and really like it.

I prefer filezilla myself.

I thought filezilla was for windows only -- I used it on windows, it's excellent.
Thanks for mentioning the firefox extension -- no harm in trying!

Cheers,

Or use Krusader - a file manager very much like Total commander. It's just keeping your ftp connections as regular bookmarks. The first application I run when sitting at the computer.

Only problem it's a KDE app - It does however work with Gnome too :)
