Mozilla
I just recently upgraded to Sid, but now I am unable to view Japanese at all in my Mozilla browser even when I try to go into view to change the character coding. Any suggestions?

Sid is by definiton unstable. Check if someone else have had the same problem, if not, report(apt-get install reportbug) it and it hopefully gets fixed.

Have you tried altering your preferences ->Edit->Preferences->Appearance->Fonts->Japanese?

Hey guys thanks for the ideas. I will send in some info for debugging when I get the chance. I know that I was able to look at Japanese websites when I was using woody, but maybe it has nothing to do with that, but rather is all about having the newer version of Mozilla. Time will tell. Thanks again!

Its funky but I just tried Netscape and found that I can view Japanese pages with no problems at all. I guess I will probably end up using that instead.

It's a Mozilla bug then. Report it at Mozilla.org! Help the cause!
:p |
Yeah, I made sure to report a bug using reportbug, but for now I am going to use Netscape even though I, for some reason, would rather use mozilla.

Any news about this?
I cannot view japanese with mozilla-firebird 0.7-6, debian sid. I'd like to... Guldo |
Wish I could give you more help but I have since switched to Slackware and am playing around with Linux From Scratch....
Firebird gives me no problems now. It must be something to do with Debian.... |
