Mounting usb pen drive file permssions problems
Debian likes to automatcally change the file permissions of the mount point of my usb pen drive. It always changes it to root when I use the mount command
sh-3.00$ mkdir /mnt/ntfs
sh-3.00$ mkdir /mnt/usb
sh-3.00$ mount /dev/sdc1 /mnt/usb
mount: only root can do that
sh-3.00$ su
Password:
debian:/home/sc# mount /dev/sdc1 /mnt/usb
debian:/home/sc# ls /mnt/usb
cv.sxw
debian:/home/sc# ls
I checked the file permissions after i executed all those commands and the owner was root. Why does debian do this. I wasn't even logged in as root when I created the mount point? It's an fat file system am trying to mount
