/mnt


Hello there. The hda1 has winXP and it is NTFS. The second partition is NTFS as well. The second hard disk(hdb) has the Debian woody. I did
cd /mnt; mkdir cdrw dvd win koino
and i cannot see any of the above partitions or drives. i can see only hdb.

What have you tried in order to see these drives? For your win directory, for example:

mount -t ntfs /dev/hda1 /mnt/win/

If this works, you'll want to add this entry to /etc/fstab so you can simply use 'mount /mnt/win' in the future.
